Beetlejuice soy candle discovery set by Dusk

February 16, 2026 10:45pm

As of now, at this very moment, i am sitting on an old dining table chair i have begun to use in place of my broken office recliner. It has just struck quater to 11pm and i have been hunched over my laptop absoulutely determined to pin this program down and really understand it. Though i feel my knowledge has only grown very little these past 5-6 hours, it has grown nonetheless so i guess i should be somewhat proud of myself :^3
i take short intermissions every now and again to get up and stretch, eat a snack, rotate my candles...
i think reviewing the scents i have experienced would be a good way for me to push my focus on something else without ending the learning session my intense interest in this site has forced me into. My recent trip to the local shopping center has rewared me with a set of 4 beetlejuice theme scented candles that were released at a market value of $44.99 (ridiculous!!)
i bought them for only $8 :)

HERE WE GO !!!!

i do have to start off by saying that i think the candles at dusk are very hit or miss, the large discounts they hand out to members and the sales they regularly host make me think they are selling the candles for a lot more than they probably should be worth--- to buy the brand rather than the product one may say.
Unfortunately i myself am one of those members, and most of the candles i own in my collection..have... been purchased at dusk..... Call me a slave to consermerism if you will, but it is for this very reason i feel entitled enough to give a thourough review on their products.
I do think the limited edition candles especially, tend to smell like bland nothing or absolute, artificial shit :( I nonetheless have quite enjoyed the series they have released for the beetlejuice franchise, surprisingly. i have been slowly buying the deadstock they store on the backshelf due to this very reason.
the reviews are not going to be in chronological order, as to publicly declare a favourite child would benefit none but my personal ego, at the cost of the health of my children

lydia deetz candle

LYDIA DEETZ

Red Orchid and Dragonfruit

I am sure this is a recipie of candle they have repourposed for other set editions, as i have definately smelt these exact notes on their "allen's" candle sets (i did not purchase any of the allen candles as i found their notes a bit too sickly sweet for my personal preferences..)
despite what I think about the allens candle collections, Lydia deetz carries small spiced notes alongside the gummy bear aroma that subtly mute the brightness in a way that i find a little more pleasing, though i wouldnt say it is something i would willingly pick out if sold on its own (sorry lydia!)

EU DE SANDWORM

smoked vanilla and liquorice

A very balanced fragrance that doesnt try to overpower the senses, though I wouldnt say it is a scent i find very unique for a candle; looking for any standard candle marketed to smell like campires would provide you with a similar experience.
Allowing the sandworm to cool after blowing the flame out does leave him smelling almost identical to an inflatable swimming pool accessory--- albiet smoother and with a subtle warm sweetness; pool floaties tend to have a sharpness to their scent, especially after prolonged usage under the sun that this candle does not capture.
very satisfying :)
the glass is a pretty colour against the candle's flame; its like im looking at uranium

Beetlejuice boogie candle

BEETLEJUICE BOOGIE

Ripe Banana and Rum

reading the title of this candle pulled me under the assumption that the scent of banana would not only be sickly overwhelming, but would also follow with a sharp, artificial sweetness to it; though i always feel it right to assess these dusk candles with low expectations, i am shocked at how much I am actually enjoying this candle
I am ashamed to say that i saved this candle for last, not because i was excited, but because i didnt want to smell it.... oh how stupid i now feel for doubting---dare i say beetlejuice boogie might actually be my favourite? (shh please dont tell the others i said that!!)
I am honestly a sucker for banana flavoured products, so i may just be biased.
Unsurprisingly, the notes of banana are in likeness to the now exotically rare, Gros Michel variety of Bananas; its shadow of its former dominance in the farming industry now living through the high concentrations of isoamyl acetate found in artificial banana flavouring. oh how i would do anything to try one
when burning, notes of spiced vanilla and baking spices are more prominent. The scent of banana is strongest when the candle is cool.

GHOSTS IN THE ATTIC

Vanilla Teak and Old Books

this candle has a scent i dont think i could get sick of; though dont interpret that meaning its a scent I'd call my favourite. I do find the candle to be surprisingly complex, though easy on the nose. I get whiffs of these musky floral notes that dominate the scent of this candle, followed by bright vanilla notes, as if im smelling seperate candles. The scent of old books and wood is not something i find very easy to pick up on when smelling the discovery set verion, though is very prominent in my larger candle; Whether this is due to a variance in the batches, or the difference in the sizes... im not too sure.. *shrugs shoulders* :P
